Repair orders that tell the story
Section 1Each visit should capture your complaint, mileage in and out, dates in the shop, parts replaced, and diagnostic codes. Ask for copies before you leave the service drive.
“Could not duplicate” visits still matter when you have video or a pattern of return visits.
Written notice to the manufacturer
Section 2Your warranty booklet usually explains how to notify the automaker. Certified mail and portal messages create a dated record that you gave the manufacturer a chance to cure the defect.
A checklist for records on hand
Section 3The documentation checklist organizes repair orders, a contract, and other records you already have. We do not need a window sticker, and we do not need a complete packet to take your case.
